State of Georgia (4/27/2009)

On November 20, 2008, the Georgia Technology Authority awarded the GAIT 2010 contract for Statewide Managed Network Services to AT&T and its partners, including Onepath Systems. On May 1, 2009 Onepath, via a strategic partnership with AT&T, will assume full responsibility for installation, maintenance and repair of the cable plant and environmental elements owned by the State of Georgia and the Agencies participating in the GAIT 2010 outsourcing contract.

Benefits of the new contract and method for privatizing the services for Georgia will include:

  • More robust and efficient network design
  • Centralized management model
  • Standardized service levels across the state
  • Services model including equipment refresh
  • Consistent perimeter information security solution

"We worked hard to win the business, and we’ve worked even harder to prepare for deployment on May 1", said Robb Borden, President of Onepath. "We are confident in our ability to perform, and our team is excited about the new opportunities and people this contract brings to the Company", he went on to say.

In February of 2009, Onepath began the first of many projects associated with this contract. In order to better understand the assets at each of the agency locations, Onepath deployed a team of approximately 80 Engineers across the State to gather voice and data infrastructure information. With approximately 6200 locations to survey, this project will extend well into the 3rd quarter of 2009.

The total value of the contract is $346 million over five years. There are two, one-year options to renew. Onepath will employ approximately 30-50 full time employees to serve the State of Georgia for this contract.
